Environment variables store project configuration, such as API keys or connection strings. Variables marked Sensitive hide their value in the dashboard after saving. You need the Admin or Developer role in the workspace to manage variables.

  1. Open your project’s variables

    • From the dashboard, open the workspace and select your project.
    • Click Variables in the project sidebar.

  2. Add a variable

    • Click Add Variable.
    • Enter a Name, such as API_KEY or API_URL, and its Value. Names are converted to uppercase.
    • Turn Sensitive on for secret values.
    • Click Save.

  3. Edit or remove a variable

    • Click Edit variable beside an existing variable, update the fields, and click Save.
    • Sensitive values are not shown in the edit form. Enter the replacement value when editing a sensitive variable.
    • To remove a variable, click Delete variable and confirm with Delete.

Variables belong to the project and are not shared with other projects. Use descriptive names and mark secrets as Sensitive instead of hardcoding them in your application.
