Download a completed backup to keep a local copy of your project’s files and database or prepare a migration. Downloads are available to workspace members with the Admin, Developer, or Viewer role.

  1. Open the backup list

    • From the dashboard, open the workspace and select your project.
    • Click Backups in the project sidebar.
  2. Choose a completed backup

    • Find the backup by its date and time. Download actions appear once the backup has completed.
    • If you need a fresh copy, use Create Backup and wait for it to finish. Creating backups requires the Admin or Developer role.
  3. Download the files and database

    • Click Download files (tgz) to save www.tgz, a compressed archive of the project’s backed-up website files.
    • Click Download database dump to save db.sql.gz, a compressed SQL dump of the backed-up database.
    • Download both from the same backup to keep the files and database from the same recovery point.

The downloads contain data from the selected backup, not changes made since it was created. Downloading does not restore or change the running project. Extract the files archive and decompress the SQL dump when you need to inspect or import them into another environment.

Keep each pair of downloads in a folder labeled with the project and backup date so they are easy to identify later. Local copies remain available after Agiler removes the original backup according to its retention policy.

For automated exports, the API reference documents separate storage and database downloads at GET /v1/projects/{project}/backups/{backup}/storage and GET /v1/projects/{project}/backups/{backup}/database. API credentials need the projects.backups:read scope (or a scope that includes it) and access to the project. The CLI also supports backup downloads.

To recover the project on Agiler, see Restore a backup.
